Sterling resident Kenneth E. Denney, 72, died Monday, March 19, 2018 at his home in Sterling.

Public visitation will be held from noon to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Kenai United Pentecostal Church, 43682 Kenai Spur Highway, Kenai, AK 99611. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. Reception will follow the services at the church. Pastor Stuart Churchill will officiate.

Ken was born in Payette, Idaho on June 20, 1945 and passed away Monday evening March 19, 2018 at his home in Sterling.

Ken was a Master Mechanic by trade and worked well over 25 years on the Alaska oil field.

Although his hobbies included fishing and hunting he was essentially a jack and MASTER of all trades. He enjoyed working at the church campground for the UPCI in Sterling and had served as Campground Administrator for several years. Ken was a true man's man and a gentleman. Ken was faithful, true, kind, honest, a man of integrity and even more he was a man of God.

Ken is survived by his wife Carolyn and his two sons Kirt (Pam) Denney of Nashville, Tennessee and Lonnie (Sharon) Denney of Kenai; mother in-law Louise Grimes of Payette, Idaho; sisters-in-law Trish Ingles of Sterling, Kay (Ray) Maestas of Payette, Idaho; one brother, Leighton (Sandra) Denney of Meridian, Idaho; grandchildren Jonathan, Keagan, Kendra and Kevin; as well as many nieces and nephews that Ken and Carolyn have loved.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Eugene and Rosalie Denney; father in-law Lonnie Johnson; and one brother-in-law Robert Ingles.
