Kevin Matthew Fena, son of Dave and Jan Fena, of Sterling, Alaska passed away at age 43 on Dec. 30, 2016 at Anchorage Regional Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska after a courageous battle with melanoma.
Kevin, a resident of Sterling, Alaska was born July 28, 1973 at the Great Lakes Naval Hospital in Great Lakes, Illinois. Kevin spent most of his youth and teenage years growing up in Hibbing, Minnesota and was a graduate of Hibbing High School.
Kevin was a tradesman with top honor certifications in multiple disciplines that ultimately led him to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska working in the oil industry for Nordic Calista International.
Kevin was an avid outdoor sportsman and loved all the majesty that Alaska had to offer. A talented mechanic by nature, Kevin spent countless hours on his favorite hobby: restoring classic cars. Kevin was known by his family and friends as a highly skilled craftsman, mechanic and masonry expert who always tackled the toughest projects and challenges with zeal and tenacity.
Kevin is survived by his daughter, Kimberly; mother and father; brothers, Cyle and Arthur; and nephews, Andrew, Matthew, and Devin.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2017 at the Peninsula Memorial Chapel, 5839 Kenai Spur Highway in Kenai, Alaska.
