Mary Jo Lange, 82, passed from this life and entered the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017 in Kenai.

A private family gathering will take place at a later date.

Mary Jo was born on Dec. 23, 1934, in Madisonville, Louisiana. While still an infant, she and her family traveled from the Louisiana area and settled in the Lodi, California area.

She married Jim Lange on Sept. 26, 1953. They had two daughters, Cathy Doss (Dennis), and Nancy Logaburn (Greg). Mary Jo and Jim raised their family in Carmichael, California. When their girls were still very young, a neighbor invited them to church, where they gave their hearts to the Lord. Because of this invitation, they have passed on a Godly heritage to their children, their grandchildren, and their great-grandchildren.

Mary Jo was a very creative and talented florist – her green thumb and floral expertise allowed her to decorate for many weddings and events. They moved to Alaska in 1997, where they continued serving the Lord at their church, Kenai New Life Assembly of God.

Over the years they traveled to several places doing volunteer work with faith-based organizations, and enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends. Mary Jo was very hospitable. She enjoyed cooking and sharing many wonderful dishes with her family and friends. She was known for her delicious salad recipes.

Mary Jo truly enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family was one of the most important things to her. Her most important legacy though, is her love of the Lord and she will be missed by all.

Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
