Mary Lou Knudsen, 67, died of natural causes on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at her residence in Soldotna.

Mary was born to the late John and Thelma Knudsen in Ballard, Washington on Sept. 25, 1950, the youngest of four. She graduated from Ballard High School in 1968.

Mary moved to Kodiak in the late 1970s. After moving around the mid-2000s, she returned to Alaska in the the spring of 2017, settling in Kenai, and more recently, Soldotna.

She enjoyed the beach, sewing, music, and cherished her two children: Jacob and Chelsea Berg. She was confirmed into Crown Lutheran Church in Ballard and remained a devout Lutheran until the end.

She is survived by her two children; her brother John; and her sisters Jo-Ann and Karen.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 4, at Joy Lutheran Church, 10111 E. Eagle River Loop Road, Eagle River, AK 99577.
