Kenai resident Penny Lee Andrews, 62, died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at her home in Kenai.

Ms. Andrews was born July 26, 1948 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She graduated from West High School in Anchorage. After graduating from high school, Penny received a Bachelor of Arts degree, Magna CumLaude, Spanish Education and Associates of Arts, CumLaude in General Studies. In 1964 she moved back to Alaska, first living in Anchorage before making Kenai her final home. Penny worked as a Operations and Maintenance Dispatcher for Peak Oilfield Services most recently. She was an avid sports fan always cheering and watching football. Penny loved animals, especially her two dogs. She also loved horses. As a teenager, her and her dad shared their enthusiasm and skills in the rodeo events. She often participated in The Kenai and Soldotna Rodeo Days growing up.
The family wrote, "Those people that got to know her knew how kind, loving, and generous she really was."
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maxwell and Audre Andrews and her sister, Pat.
She is survived by her sister, Sandra Behm of Honolulu, Hawaii; and niece, Gerri Rusch of Sonora, California.
