Rylee Marie Cress of Nikiski passed away peacefully at Seattle Children's Hospital in Seattle on Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012 following heart surgery complications. She was 8 months old.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 10 at Nikiski High School auditorium with a reception following. Burial will be at McGahan Cemetery in Nikiski.
Rylee Marie was born on June 29, 2011, at Woman's Way Midwifery in Soldotna.
Her Mommy wrote: "Rylee went to meet Jesus. I am excited for her! But, heartbroken that I'm going to miss her friendship, and her growing up ... She has fought really hard to stay with us, but God has a bigger plan … Rylee is just way too good for this world, so we will look forward to seeing her in heaven when we get there …"
Rylee is deeply missed and loved by her parents, James and Margaret Cress, and her favorite big brother, Elliot who is 2 1/2, all of Nikiski.
It has been written, "There is no foot so small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world," and this is so true of our little Rylee. She was loved by all who met her, and many others around the world who were praying for her these last 3 months.
Rylee is also survived by her grandparents, Jon and Karen Cress and Beaver and Carol Broussard of Nikiski. Her Great-grandparents are Peter and Nancy Cress and Paul and June Pilch, in Phillips, Wis. She has 11 aunties (Angela Davis, Sammi Broussard, Sarah Cress, Lila Henderson, Jessica Broussard, Johanna Broussard, Alexa McClure, Kendra Broussard, Jenna Cress, Jemmi Cress and Jillian Broussard); 12 uncles (Christopher Davis, Mathew Broussard, Jesse Cress, Michael Broussard, William Broussard, Ryan Broussard, Beau Broussard, Jed Cress, Josh Cress, Jerry Cress and Josiah Cress); and 26 first cousins, here in Alaska. Rylee also has many other extended family members and close friends who are all missing her.
Her family would like to thank the special, gifted and loving staff of doctors and nurses at Seattle Children's during the 3 months she was there, for their compassion and support.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be suggested to the family.
