Kenai resident, Mrs. Sheryl "Kathy" Frazier, 67, passed away at her home, Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 from a longtime illness.
A private family service will be held in her honor at a later date.
Kathy was born April 27, 1946 in Luis Obispo, Calif., to Wilbur and Ruth Mark.
Kathy first came to Alaska as a Vista volunteer in 1965. She was part of the first group of volunteers to ever come to Alaska. She fell in love with Alaska after living here for only four years. After leaving she always wanted to come back. She finally made it back to Alaska in December of 1999.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Joe; daughter, Ruth Ann McKinley of Texas City, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Elizabeth Berestoff, of Soldotna; and four grandsons, Kody McKinley, of Texas City, Texas, Colten Bennett, of Mauston, Wisconsin, and Philip Bennett and Alex Berestoff of Soldotna.
