Steve "Butch" Butler, 74, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away Monday, June 25 at home with his wife Kay and son Mac by his side.

Butch was born in Levelland, Texas on August 10, 1943 and married the love of his life, Kay, in 1961. He was the son of James "Pop" and Willie "Bill" Butler. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Pat and brother-in-law Dick Weaver.

Butch and his family spent 30 years in Alaska. He retired from Unocal and relocated to Hot Springs, Arkansas for the warmer climate and his passion for golf. Butch's other hobbies included bowling, fishing and cooking. His only son, Mac, inherited his interest for car racing and motorcycles.

He had a special love for his nieces and nephews Derrill and Patty Weaver, Rusty Weaver, Sherry and Cliff Soares, Tanna and Mike Chenault, and Alan and Nan Weaver.

A family graveside service is planned for a later date in Kenai, Alaska.
