The family wrote, People who, if even only for a brief moment ever crossed his path during his time on earth, would say he was the kindest man they ever met. He truly was an example in compassion for others. His long and deep conversations will be missed by many. One of his biggest joys in life that always brought a smile to his face was spending time with and teaching his beloved grandchildren everything he knew and loved. You could almost always find him and his grandson (Justin Anderson) watching and betting on football games. He was the father figure that anyone needed, accepting anyone as his own, opening his heart, home, and mind … never questioning. His sense of humor even on the darkest of days could make anyone smile.
