Mr. Zebulon Eugene Nudson, 35, of Hilo, Hawaii, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 at his residence in Hilo. He was born in Soldotna on Sept. 27, 1977 and grew up on the North Road in Nikiski.
Zeb lived a life full of adventure, including playing hockey, snowboarding, paintballing, scuba diving and recently teaching himself to surf on the island of Hawaii. After graduating from Nikiski High School, Zeb was honorably discharged from the US Army, serving from November 1995 to November 1998. He also earned his Associates Degree in Process Technology from KPC.
Always an exemplary employee, Zeb completed his CDL certification in 1999 and drove trucks for Werner Enterprises across the Continental U.S., followed by employment with Pacific Alaska Forwarders and S&R Enterprises on the Kenai Peninsula. He then drove tractor trailer fuel trucks in the most extreme climates on Earth, including four years as a private contractor for Kellogg Brown and Root in Iraq, three and a half years on the North Slope with Colville, and one year as a Terminal Operator and Driver for Tesoro in Hawaii.
Zeb is survived by Lawrence and Annette Nudson of Nikiski; Thor, Angelica, Andres, and Trinity Nudson of Tonto Basin, Ariz.; Oralee Nudson and Jason Focke of Fairbanks; and Patricia Nudson of Arizona.
A memorial service with U.S. Army Military honors will be held for Zeb at the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma, San Diego on March 28, 2013 at 11 a.m.
Zeb will always occupy a presence in the hearts and minds of his family and countless friends he made throughout his journeys.
Condolences may be sent to the Nudson Family at P.O. Box 8055, Nikiski, AK 99635.
