Longtime Sterling resident Linda Preston, 59, died Monday, Apr. 9, 2012 at her home in Sterling.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Thursday, Apr. 19, at the Soldotna Church of God on the corner of Binkley and Redoubt in Soldotna. Viewing will be from 3-4 p.m. Thursday at the church. Pastor Alan Humphries will officiate. Burial will follow the funeral at Spruce Grove Memorial Park on K-Beach Rd.
Linda was born Oct. 22, 1952 in Pasadena, Texas. She moved to Alaska in 1967 and lived in Sterling.
Linda enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, canning, macramé, dehydrating foods, cooking and especially helping others.

Linda was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary, Arvil and Pat Marks. She is survived by her husband, John Preston of Sterling; daughters, Gena Marks of Anchorage and Celeste Cannon of Kenai; stepsons, Jason Preston of Anchorage and Jacob Preston of Austin, Texas; grandsons, Matthew Bilby of Tulsa, Okla., Tyler Cannon of Kenai and Anthony Preston of Soldotna; granddaughter, Breana Maal of Anchorage; brothers, Lew Marks of Austin, Texas, Michael Marks of Houston, Texas and Wayne Marks of Friendswood, Texas; sisters, Carol Lewis of Deerpark, Texas and Bonnie Sarchet of Boise, Idaho.
Memorial donations may be sent to the family to Gena Marks, 5410 Mockingbird Dr., #18, Anchorage, AK 99507.
Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
