Soldotna resident Mr. Gary Jack Bennett, 62, passed away Sunday, Dec. 2 at the Central Peninsula Hospital after a long illness with cancer.
Mr. Bennett was born Aug. 20, 1950 in Sacramento, Calif. He grew up in Moses Lake, Wash. and moved to Soldotna in 1990, where he worked for VECO as a heavy equipment operator on the North Slope and in the Cook Inlet as a crane operator.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne of Moses Lake, Wash. At his request, there will be no memorial service held. He will be cremated and his ashes spread along with the ashes of his beloved dog, Rootee.
He is survived by his loving mother Lorraine and brother Marc, of Moses Lake, Wash., and brother John and wife Diane, of Soldotna; nieces Lisa and Johna and nephew, Josh and wife, Shawna, of Post Falls, Idaho; three great nephews, Elijah, Quin and Jayden and two great nieces, Libby and Maliyah.
