Doyle L. Gillaspy passed away November 13, 2012, in Ellensburg, Washington, after a long battle with cancer.
He was born February 23, 1941, to Arthur and Virginia Gillaspy.
Doyle served in the United States Navy
from 1959 to 1963.
Doyle was born in Anthony, Kansas, and he also lived in Wakita/Nash, Oklahoma, Hawaii while stationed at Pearl Harbor and in Eastern Washington.
Doyle moved to Sequim in 1981 and continued his work career at the paper mill in Port Angeles until poor health moved him to Ellensburg in August of 2012.
He had many friends and neighbors in the Dungeness area of Sequim, and he kept in touch with his co-workers from the paper mill.
Doyle was a licensed airplane mechanic and a journeyman welder. His hobbies include traveling, playing guitar and Dobro, and boating. His passion was flying and working on his airplane, which he restored.
Doyle loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Doyle is survived by his three sons, Chet (Ashley) of Auburn, Washington, Jacob (Melissa) of Ellensburg and Lucas (Annie) of Sequim; daughter Katherine (Tom) Jugueta of Oak Harbor, Washington; and grandchildren Mattie, Rylee, Daniel, Brody and Leah Gillaspy, and Tommy Jugueta.
He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Pheobe Jugueta.

A memorial service will be held for family and friends Saturday, April 20, at 2 p.m. at Dungeness Community Church, 45 Eberle Lane, Sequim.
