JAMES MARTIN HESS(November 14, 1925 - January 28, 2013)

Jim Hess was born in Bellingham and was raised primarily in the Seattle area.

In 1989, he and his wife, Shirley, moved to Port Angeles.

Jim served in the U.S. Navy as a pharmacist mate. Most of their working careers, he and Shirley were self-employed in the stereo business and, later, also recorded the Pacific Fishery Management Council hearings.

In retirement, he produced audio-visual memory albums for families. Jim was especially known for his friendliness, creativity and great sense of humor.

Fly fishing, photography and gardening were some of his favorite past-times.

He is survived by Shirley, his wife of 67 and a half years; his children, Charlene Bain, Cindy Mondoy and Craig Hess, and their spouses; grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob, Sara, Audrey, Ashlee and Jackie; sisters, Meredith Runestrand and Kathie Mass; and brother, Charles Hess; and many cousins nephews and extended family.

A private funeral service and celebration of Jim's life was held in Port Angeles.
