Mary Elizabeth Stivers(September 1, 1920 - December 5, 2013)

Mary Elizabeth Stivers, 93, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013, in Danville, Kentucky.

She was born September 1, 1920, in Seattle, Washington, and was a longtime resident of Yakima, Washington, before retiring to Port Angeles.

Upon the death of her husband, she moved to Lancaster, Kentucky.

Mary attended the University of Washington and was the last surviving graduate of the 1942 class of the Port Angeles Hospital School of Nursing.

Mary worked as a registered nurse for many years in Yakima and served as a Navy nurse during World War II.

Mary is survived by a son, Charles (Jeanne) Stivers of Yakima; a daughter, Shelby (Doug) Williams of Lancaster; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Stivers, and her two brothers.
