Betty Hale of Port Angeles died at Pacific Coast Post Acute Care in Salinas California on May 19, 2018. She was 80 years old.

Betty is survived by her child Kelly Melendez of Salinas California and her granddaughter Morgan Melendez. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hale of Port Angeles, her son Bret and her parents Ulmant and Ruth Vaughn of Corning, California.

Betty was born on May 31, 1937, in Compton, California, to Ulmant and Ruth Vaughn. She was born an only child. She graduated from Redbluff high school in 1955. She then married Robert Hale on November 30, 1962, in Reno, Nevada. Five years later they welcomed their first child Kelly, 2½ years later their son Bret was born.

During Betty's life she was a dedicated wife, homemaker and mother. She spent tireless hours driving her children to swim practice, piano and horseback riding lessons. She was very grateful to her children when they got their drivers license so she would no longer have to be a chauffeur. Though I'm sure if you asked her she didn't mind.

My mother was loved very much and I will miss her.

"I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living my mother you'll be" - Robert Muncsh

Memorial service will be held in her honor at Ocean View cemetery 3127 East Eighteenth Avenue, Port Angeles, WA at 2 p.m. on July 6, 2018. Family would like to thank all the dedicated nurses and staff at Pacific Coast Post Acute Hospital and the VNA hospice of Salinas, California.

Flowers and condolences can be sent to 22 Pine St., Salinas, CA 93901.
