David "Goose" Goolsby lost his battle with cancer on December 23, 2013, at his home.
Goose had many friends, and he would like to have them all to get together at the Junction Roadhouse, 242701 U.S. Highway 101, Port Angeles, for a celebration of life on Friday, February 7, 2014. A potluck starts at 6 p.m., and the band will start at 8 p.m.
Dave's favorite prayer:
I asked God for strength, that I might achieve; I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey.
I asked for health, that I might do greater things; I was given infirmity, that I might do better things.
I asked for riches, that I might be happy; I was given poverty, that I might be wise.
I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men; I was given weakness, that I might steel the need of God.
I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life; I was given life, that I might enjoy all things.
I got nothing that I asked for, but everything I hoped for.
Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.
I am among all men most richly blessed.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Betty Goolsby.
He is survived by his niece, Melissa Doresey; brothers and sister; and countless friends.
Thank you to Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County.
