Denis Jay Holcomb passed away peacefully on July 31, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

Denis was born April 15, 1941, in Port Angeles, Washington to Robert and Dorthea Holcomb, being one of eight siblings.

Denis met the love of his life, Darlene Raymond, in June of 1958 at a local dance. They dated and danced the nights away and then married on October 13, 1962. They continued their life together, raising three wonderful sons, Joe, Tim and Ricky.

There were a variety of trades Denis dabbled in, from milkman, millworker, log truck and dump truck driver and car salesman. His great love and passion was for motorcycles. He worked in a few different shops before taking over PA Cycle Hub, which became Hoke's Place. Most recently, he ran the Black Diamond Rock Pit. Great friendships were built through each of these that lasted his lifetime.

Over the years, there were many fun-filled family adventures, including camping, motorcycle riding, fishing, hunting, clamming, and snowmobiling which brought life long stories that will continue to be told over and over. His latest joy has been his 56' chev, which he has enjoyed immensely taking to car shows and even winning some trophies.

Dancing certainly brought great joy to Denis. It also brought great joy to others, whether dancing with him or watching him dance - it was mesmerizing, we all wanted more. We can't help but to smile as we think of Den and Darlene reuniting and dancing in heaven.

Denis, Hoke to many, touched lives by his generousness to help others and not expect a darn thing in return. Quite honestly, by many, Denis will be remembered as a legend. He was tough as nails and lived large.

However, the dedication he had for his family was beyond all other. Words can't say enough how he would put family before all other. He was so proud of his boys, his grandchildren and great grandson. He, over the years, even seemed to acquire extra "grandchildren" from outside the family as he was so loveable.

Denis is survived by his three sons and daughters-in- law, Joe and Jennifer Holcomb of Port Angeles, Tim and Lori Holcomb of Port Angeles and Ricky and Kim Holcomb of Bend, Oregon; grandchildren Stephanie Spencer of Port Angeles, Dylan Holcomb of Logan, Utah, Tori Thompson of Logan, Utah, Peyton Holcomb of Arlington, Washington, and Keyton Holcomb of Bend, Oregon; great-grandson Camron Lee Holcomb of Port Angeles; brother Pat Holcomb of Spanaway, Washington, Steve Holcomb of Hilliard, Ohio, Erin Davis of Hillsboro, Oregon and Jeannie Harper of Port Angeles.

The Celebration of Life will be at 3pm on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at the Eagles Annex in Port Angeles. Appetizer potluck and no host bar. Band to start at 6pm. Your hot rods and Harleys are welcome too.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Volunteer Hospice-Clallam County.
