John Franklin Waldron died peacefully at his home in Port Hadlock on Sunday, October 13. He was 84.
John was born on February 11, 1928, in Kettle Falls, Washington, the youngest of 11 children. His family moved to Port Angeles in the early 1930s.
John served with the Merchant Marine before joining the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1948. After his service in the Philippines, he lived most of his life in Clallam and Jefferson counties.
John married Lois Williams Clinton in July 1950. They had four children, Diana Kaye, Michael Duane, Daniel Mark and James Eban.
The couple were divorced in 1963, and in 1964, John married JoAnne Elterich Pederson and became father to her four children, Kathryn Marie, Debra Ruth, David Edward and Peter Christian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Edna (Frownfelter) and Eben Alexander; his wife, JoAnne; his son Daniel; his grandchildren Danielle and Christopher; his great-grandson Dewayne; and by his 10 siblings, Violet, Tobias, Arthur, Grace, Mary, Forrest, Myrtle, Eugene, Arlene and Elzora "Dodie."
He is survived by seven children, Kaye Winona of Kalispell, Montana; Michael Waldron, Kathy Elterich and Eddie Pederson, all of Port Angeles; Debra Elterich of Port Hadlock; James Waldron of Connell, Washington; and Pete Waldron of Sequim.
He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons.
