She was born Lois Ann Stanley on August 21, 1929, in Emmett, Idaho. She spent her childhood years in Emmett and moved with her parents to Bremerton, Washington, where she graduated from South Kitsap High School.

She married Roy E. Doninger on February 4, 1950.
Roy and Ann lived several places while Roy worked on a traveling job with the railroad. After the railroad job in 1954, they moved to Port Angeles and bought their first home on East 10th Street, and Roy started a career with the Pacific Northwest Bell Systems. Ann worked at the Olympic National Park Visitor Center for a few years.
She was a lifetime member of Eastern Star and belonged to the Children's Orthopedic Guild. She enjoyed camping, hunting and trout fishing on the Olympic Peninsula, especially razor clam hunting on the West End beaches. She was also an avid reader, seamstress, knitter and gardener. She volunteered her time as a Camp Fire leader.
She will be greatly missed, and her warm smile and laugh will be remembered forever.
