Malcolm James Alexander, age 72 died May 19, 2018. Malcolm was a quiet and pleasant man who loved to serve others. He studied at Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio, majoring in psychology.

After school he worked for the YMCA, Child Welfare of Allegheny County, PA, and the Boys & Girls Clubs in western Pennsylvania. After that he ministered through SAMS-USA for two decades in Honduras as a charter member of the Tegucigalpa Church-Planting Team. In response to the devastation of Hurricane Mitch in 1998, Malcolm began an outreach ministry to youth in a community for displaced survivors.

Eventually, a community center was built and an ongoing program of Christian education, vocational training, and recreation was established.

Malcolm then moved to Port Angeles where he served for a time on the Board of the Port Angeles Symphony Orchestra and the Board of the Olympic Medical Center Auxiliary. He volunteered many hours at the hospital and was a member of Independent Bible Church. Malcolm also loved animals and was strongly committed to their well-being.

Malcolm is survived by his nephew Kyle Haines, his niece Lauri Haines and great-niece Willa Haines.
