Patricia "Pat" Downing went home to be with the Lord, January 27, 2014. She was born in San Francisco on Saint Patty's Day, March 17, 1929, to Vincent and Mercedes Coret. Her mother, Mercedes, and her "Aunt Dee Dee" doted over her.

She started working for Shell Oil right after high school, where she worked her entire career. She retired from Shell Oil in the mid-1970s as an Information Services Supervisor.

On July 30, 1966, Pat married her beloved husband Lowell Downing and they were inseparable! They lived in San Francisco where they loved boating, entertaining and life. Lowell and Pat moved to Joyce in the 1980s where they welcomed all to their "bunker." They were very active in the local Joyce Daze festivities.

After Lowell's death, Pat moved to Port Angeles where she joyfully volunteered for the Chamber of Commerce for many years. Pat took great comfort in helping those grieving while she volunteered at Hospice of Clallam County. She absolutely loved dining out with friends and family.

In her later years, she took great joy in attending the Upper Room IBC services. If you were blessed to be a friend of Pat's, you had a friend forever.

She is survived by cousins, Ron Askham of Benicia, Calif.; Gayle Waugh of Petaluma, Calif., and Jeff Waugh of Petaluma, Calif., and Greg Waugh of San Francisco, Calif.

There will be a public viewing for Pat, Friday, February 7, 2014, from 10 a.m. to noon at Harper Ridgeview Funeral Chapel followed by a graveside service at 1 p.m. at Mount Angeles Memorial Park, and there will be a Celebration of Life the following day, Saturday, February 8, at 11 a.m. at IBC.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County 540 E. Eighth St., Port Angeles, WA 98362. Harper Ridgeview Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
