The Reverend Ralph E. Waud, former pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Sequim, passed away on November 22, 2013.

Rus was born on October 7, 1921, to Tom and Clara Waud in New Durham, Ontario.

He served as a PBY bomber pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force in World War II.

He met Eileen McCreesh while stationed at Pat Pay, Victoria, British Columbia. They married in 1945 and celebrated 68 years of marriage last June.

Rus was preceded in death by his son David Waud.

He is survived by his wife, Eileen; son Dan; daughters Debbie and Becky; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Rus graduated from Bible college and then pastored five successive Baptist churches, including Faith Baptist in Sequim from 1984 to 1992. He retired in 1994.

He loved the United States and, with his family, became a citizen in 1965.

Rus loved to hunt, fish, travel and build things. Mostly, though, he enjoyed flying. He kept his World War II flight log up-to-date throughout the years.

We'll have to make his last entry for him:

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, at Warm Beach, 20420 Marine Drive, Stanwood, WA 98292.
