Tonight while visiting my grandfather and saying my goodbye's I sat in the pew at the funeral home and thought about the tremendous blessing that he has bestowed upon all of my family. I realized that God has a way of providing for our every need and sent a man into our lives that truly led by example. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, and friend. In the 40 years that I have had the privilege of calling him Grandpa I can honestly say that I have never encountered another individual that has had the ability to love as unconditional as Bob. I will miss him dearly and keep his memory close to my heart and as I lay him to rest I will take with me the lessons I have learned trough him and leave my judgments, disappointments, and heartaches at the altar. For God has truly sent us an angel to teach us the true meaning of love and how important is to cherish our family. I love you Grandpa........God Speed!

To the Swenson family, please accept my condolences, Bob will be greatly missed. He was blessed to live a long time. Psalms 90:10 says that those who live to be 80 and older have "extra strength" which he had. May you treasure the fond memories of him in your heart.

This is probably one of the hardest things I have written thus far in life. I put off as long as I could to place an entry in here because honestly, I am still in disbelief that you are gone. I have not been able to get myself to accept that you are no longer with us here on earth but know you are an absolutely bright new star in the sky and one of the most beautiful angels there ever was. I find myself seeing things that I have passed by so many times in the last few years but never thought anything about, yet now... I seem to find them reminding me of you and the fond memories I have. They spark little images in my head of things we used to do together and how close we were. I remember a number of times growing up hearing that I was just like you and that people could definitely see that I was your granddaughter. If we weren't sneaking cookies from the cookie jar, you and dad were taking turns sneaking things from my plate at the dinner table. I still think about that as I sit down at the table and find myself with my hands on both sides of my plate to protect it so no one sticks a fork in it while I'm not watching. :) I loved taking nature walks in the back yard, visiting the chickens, picking huckleberries, visiting teachers and staff at the school until you got off of work, playing games together, sharing bible verses, listening to you sing while I played the violin, and my favorite... the hugs. You always had so much love, compassion, and warmth in your hugs. You were always so gentle and nurturing and I loved that about you. There was nothing like the feeling of grandpa's hands holding mine, guiding me through a treasured tour of his flower gardens and the gentleness in his heart, always reminding me about the important things in life. I have no words to describe the feeling of losing you with us here on earth, in fact I am still numb in that regard. One thing, however, for sure is that I loved you so very much and I missed you all these years while you were in Colorado. I know I didn't get to see you much during that time but I never forgot you and think of you every day I enter my house. You are all over. i have always had a tribute of you in my home in some way because you touched my life and my heart in such a huge way that my denial of your loss is numbing to my mind. I will miss you immensely and I love you so very much. i know you are in your element now, in heaven but selfishly I wish I could just have one more hug, one more I love you, and one more sound of your voice. Heaven is surely blessed to have you. You are the sunshine in my day now and the promise for a new tomorrow. I love you and miss you, Always and Forever! Love, Karianne & Family

We have been neighbors of Bob and Lola for 22 years. We enjoyed the sight of Bob always tending his yard and his beautiful flowers. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word. He was a favorite of our sons, Adam and Evan, they loved him very much. Rest in peace, Bob until we meet again.

So many things come to mind when I think about Bob. He was always smiling which brought joy to everyone. He was a man that truly loved God, wife & kids., his yard & his cookies. One of the kindest men I have every known. When he & Lola moved from Pt Angeles to Grand Junction, we were sad to lose him. Even though we have not seen him for many years, he has never b een forgotten. He made a great impact on those of us that had him in our lives. We count it an honor to have known him & he enriched our lives greatly. Phyllis O'Brien

Dad, We loved you so very much, and will miss you even more. You were so much to us. Heaven will rejoice at the sight of you, and we have peace knowing you will be there to greet us. There is not enough space on here to write all that is in our hearts. But you take our hearts with you, so you know what is in them. Our prayers and love go out to you too Lola. You were the blessing that came into Dad's life that never stopped giving. We know how much he cherished and loved you. All our Love, the kids, Jim and Patty
