Fredrik Albin Forsell passed away on May 1, 2013, at Olympic Medical Center of natural causes.

Fred was born in Narpes, Finland, to John Fredrik and Annie Sigrid Forsell on January 15, 1935.

Fred and his four brothers crossed the Atlantic with their mother, Annie, and arrived in New York on November 29, 1948. They continued their trek to Port Angeles to join Fred's father, John, who was employed at Peninsula Plywood.

After completing his education, Fred enlisted in the United States Air Force. He finished his air training command in Illinois, specializing as an aircraft electrician. He was especially interested in working on the P-51 Mustang and F-86 Sabre.

While stationed in England, he met his first wife, Eileen. Fred and Eileen returned to the United States after his discharge from the Air Force.

They had three sons, Bobby, Jim and Steven.

He and his brother Alan operated a meat packing plant. Later, he went to work as a stevedore and crane operator. He was employed by the Port of Port Angeles for 28 years.

Fred enjoyed doing electrical work and had a small electrical business for a number of years.

Fred's wife, Eileen, passed away in 1990.

In 1993, Fred married Georgia Reamer.

Fred enjoyed gardening and took a special pride in caring for his rose garden. He was also an avid fisherman.

He repaired and refinished pianos for Paul Creech in Port Angeles.

The last piano he refinished was for the National Historical Society and was 105 years old.

Fred is survived by his wife of 20 years, Georgia; sons Steven Forsell and Jim (Jessie) Forsell; stepchildren Jeffrey (Margie) Reamer and DeAnn (Steve) Manwell; and brothers John (Barbara) Forsell, Stan (Arlene) Forsell and Sven (Phyllis) Forsell. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Bobbie, Stephanie, Jacob, Shawna, Samantha, Daniel and Angela; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eileen Forsell; his son Bobby Forsell; his parents, John and Annie Forsell; and brother Alan Alfred Forsell.

A graveside inurnment service for family and friends will be on Friday, May 10, at 1 p.m. at Mount Angeles Memorial Park, 45 South Monroe Road, with the Reverend Omar Vigoren officiating.
