Lloyd Lee Hickerson of Port Angeles died on May 17, 2014, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, from complications due to a fall.
He was born in Seattle on June 27, 1944, to I. Jenell and Oscar D. Hickerson Jr.
Lloyd attended Northwest Nazarene University and the University of Washington.
After college, he worked as an elementary educator on Bainbridge Island and in Port Angeles for 33 years and as a law enforcement ranger at Olympic National Park for 37 years.
He married Carol Jeanne Welker Hickerson on August 10, 1963, in Seattle.
Lloyd was a model railroad enthusiast and collector, woodcrafter, avid fisherman and hunter, and animal lover. He enjoyed traveling and hiking.
He was a member of Independent Bible Church in Port Angeles, Village Traders of Puget Sound, the Clallam County Teachers Association and the Clallam County Historical Society.
He leaves behind his wife, Carol Hickerson of Port Angeles; sons Jeffrey (Yvonne) Hickerson, Marcus (Olivia) Hickerson and Derik (Julie) Hickerson; and daughter Cheri (Curt) Boettcher. He's also survived by his sisters Donna (Jerry) Weaver, Carol (Gerard) Tanner and Shirley Arthalony; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Boettcher, Jordan Boettcher, Trenton Hickerson, Téa Hickerson, Zachary Hickerson, Robin Hickerson, and Brooke Hickerson.
He was preceded in death by his sister Phyllis Baker.
A graveside service will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. at Ocean View Cemetery, 3127 West 18th Street, Port Angeles. A celebration of life will follow on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Independent Bible Church, 116 East Ahlvers Road, Port Angeles, at 11 a.m.
