Cecille Odessa Doss was born to Taswell-Turner and Dora Fox in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, on January 23, 1926.

She had two sisters and three brothers.

She picked cotton as a child and helped raise her siblings. She survived a tumultuous childhood and shared her knowledge with others she would meet in her life's journey.

Cecille left Denver, Colorado, in 1943 and relocated to Port Angeles, where she lived the rest of her life.

She had three children, Loyd, Gayle and Nick, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Cecille spent many years working as a nurse's aid at the Campbell House in Port Angeles. She really enjoyed taking care of people both young and old.

She spent her later years raising her great-grandchildren and loved every moment of it. A mother to all, Cecille had a heart full of love. She raised three generations of children, with help from her son Loyd on the third generation.

She always welcomed her children's close friends with open arms and made sure they knew that whatever it was they needed to feel free to come to her. Whether they were hungry or simply needed to feel loved, Cecille was more than willing to be there for them.

Cecille loved bingo and could be found at the Masonic Temple on a regular basis.

Cecille was preceded in death by all of her siblings, Lucille, Nettie, Bill, Curtis and Thomas; her daughter, Gayle; son Nick; and grandchildren Nick and Lori.

A service will be held today, July 11, from noon to 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 139 West Eighth Street in Port Angeles. A potluck will follow the service.

A viewing was held at Harper-Ridgeview Funeral Chapel in Port Angeles.
