Don was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.
He enjoyed and excelled in all sports.
Five days after graduating from Monticello High School in 1951, he joined the Marine Corps.
Following boot camp at Camp Pendleton, infantry and cold-weather training, he was sent to Korea in February of 1952.
He served with a Marine rifle company.
Don was decorated for his bravery as a combat wireman and received the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat "V" authorization. He returned home in February of 1953.
In 1964, he married the love of his life, Delight Germain. They lived in Orange County until 1993, when they moved to Discovery Bay and Sequim.
He loved his family and his country, and he revered the Marine Corps.
Don always put a lot of emphasis on friendships he made over the years and was helpful to many.
Don was a member of 1st Marine Division "H" Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Regiment.
Don is survived by his wife, Delight; his sister, Edie (Don) Anderson; two nephews in California; and countless friends.
Services will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, at the Sequim VFW Lodge 169 East Washington Street, Sequim, WA 98382.
