Paul S. Foss

Paul S. Foss, 93, of Lewistown, passed away at his home on Friday, January 17, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aleta N. Foss, who passed away July 18, 1996. Paul was born September 30, 1920 in Howard, PA to the late Frank H. & Cora Mae Cary Foss.
He was the retired owner of Foss Jewelers, Inc. of Lewistown and Mifflintown and was a faithful member of the Grace United Methodist Church. Paul was a 33 Degree Mason, Past Master of Lewistown Lodge # 203 F&AM, and was a member of the Harrisburg Consistory, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Jaffa Shrine of Altoona, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and the Perry, Juniata, and Mifflin County Shrine Clubs. Also, he was a member of the Newport American Legion #177, Lewistown Rotary, BPOE #663 and Lewistown Country Club. Paul was the oldest member of the Newport Union Hunting Camp #1, Toboyne Twp., Blain and was a Veteran of the Army during WW II and Air Force Reserves.
Paul is survived by his wife, Theresa Nickel Hollinger Foss; two sons, James S. (Donna) Foss of Beaver Springs and Howard F. (Denise) Foss of Lewistown; two daughters, Paula F. Smith of Lewistown and Amy Beth (Greg) Yoder of McVeytown; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving is step son, Samuel (Diane) Hollinger of Carlisle and two step daughters, Diane (George) Kulp of Hatfield, PA and Joanne Hollinger of Lewistown. Paul was preceded in death recently by two brothers, Abbot R. & Herbert C. Foss and son-in-law, Gary Smith.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January, 22, 2014 at 11:00AM in his church at 101 Logan St., Lewistown, with Rev. Richard J. Bender and Pastor Steve Rynkewitz officiating. A luncheon will follow the funeral service. Interment will be private in the Juanita Memorial Park. There will be a viewing Tuesday evening, January 21, from 6PM until 9PM, with Masonic services at 8:30 PM in his church.
