John David Shetter, 71, of the Colonial Park Care Center, and formerly Hummelstown, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015, in the home.
Born in Hershey on December 23, 1943, he was the son of the late Warren Shetter and Romaine Mark Shetter Atticks.
John was an aircraft mechanic for Bell Helicopter in Texas and Kansas, and was a truck driver for Verdelli Farms, Hummelstown. John was an U. S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a former member of American Legion Post 265, Hummelstown.
John is survived by a son, Darrell Shane Shetter of Grand Junction, CO; two brothers, Edward L. Shetter husband of Joyce E. Yantz Shetter of Middletown, and Warren Bruce Shetter of Mount Joy.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a son, David Charles Shetter.
Graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at 11 AM in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Township, with The Rev. George M. Minick, pastor of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hummelstown, officiating.
Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in memory of Penn State Milton S. Hershey Children's Hospital, Office of University Development and Alumni Relations, Mail Code A120, 600 Centerview Drive, PO Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033.
