Elizabeth A. Ream, age 86, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. Born March 8, 1931 in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas Anthony and Catherine Theresa (Ullman) Hill.
Elizabeth always had a fascination with science and this interest led her to enroll in the St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing from which she graduated in 1953. Her career as a surgical nurse began at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon and she went on to also work at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media, PA and Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill, PA. In her free time, she enjoyed baking, music, and doing needlepoint. She was a selfless and giving woman who also worked to be a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. She always placed an emphasis on the importance of taking care of people, thanking God for all of the good things in your life, and believed strongly in the mantra "treat others the way you would like to be treated."
She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Ream, Sr. Surviving is her son, James A. Ream, Jr. and wife Beth; her daughters, Adrienne Bradl and husband Roger, Margaret Ream, and Laurie Ream; her granddaughters, Kristin Sabadish and Caitlin Sabadish; and her siblings, Nicholas Hill, Bruce Hill, and Judy Heider.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 3 at Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg, where there will be a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will take place privately in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
