Roy C. Clark
1927-2013
Roy C. Clark went home to his Heavenly Father on Monday. Born August 5th, 1927 in Laurel Hill, Florida to Ernest and Mary Ellen Clark, the family later moved to Crestview. While an apprentice at the naval depot in Pensacola, he joined the U.S. Navy in 1944, serving until the end of World War II. He met and married his wife Merle and together they raised a daughter and son. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Afterward, the family settled in Pensacola and he resumed his civil service career, retiring from the NADEP in 1983. Roy was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 56 years. He is survived by sister Dorothy Watts of Crestview, daughter Patt (Robert) Martin of Pensacola, son Larry (Linda) Clark of Jacksonville, 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. He was a man of integrity and honesty who loved his family and instilled in his children and grandchildren the importance of those virtues.
