Jernigan, Lois  
Lois Davis Jernigan 1954 - 2015 Lois was granted her angel wings on March 17, 2015, after a long battle with cancer. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Lois's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood her existence far exceeded her time here with us. Lois is preceded in death by mother and father Lilla and Ozie Davis; husband, Jay Jernigan and companion, Jerry. She is survived by a brother Aaron Davis; daughters; Jennifer (Carland) and Jaye "JJ"; grandchildren, Kyleigh Leighaung and Tevin; niece Misty (Paul); and great-niece Bailey. Memorial Service will be held Friday March 27, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Elks Lodge, Pensacola Beach. Trahan Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers make donations to ST. Jernigan, Ray  
Ray Jernigan, 69, born in Red Level, AL passed away in Pensacola, FL on March 19, 2015. He had resided in Pensacola for the past 16 years. Ray retired from the US Army as a Sergeant First Class (E-7) . He served bravely in Vietnam. His decorations include the Vietnam Service Medal with 3 bronze stars. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Ray worked for MWR where he was employed until his retirement. Ray was a member of American Legion #240 and also the Gold Wing Association. Ray was a simple man with a big heart. He enjoyed hunting, spending time with his family and friends and attending auctions. Rays is survived by his loving wife, Joan Jernigan; four sons: Richard (Suzette) Jernigan; Doug (Kelly) Jernigan; Leon (Karen) Jernigan and Richie Carreker; two daughters: Debbie Roberson and Pam Mallett; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers. He also leaves behind his best friends and hunting buddies: Pat Bradley, Bobby Manning, Bobby Clark, Johnny Daszczuk and his favorite aunt, Betty Skelton. The family expresses their special thanks to Emerald Coast Hospice; Dr. Gary Gottthelf and also the staff at the VA in Biloxi, MS. The family will receive friends at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, March 23, 2015 from 12:00 pm until the 1:00 pm funeral service. Pastor Johnny Daszczuk will officiate. Ray will receive full military honors at the gravesite at Pensacola Memorial Gardens. The family has entrusted Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with all arrangements. Jones, Melvin  
Melvin L. Jones Melvin L. Jones died on February 8, 2015 at home in Nashua, NH, after a long bout with illness. He was born in Pensacola, Florida, on June 30, 1951. During his late teen years he moved to Boston, Massachusetts. From there, he served time in the Job Corps, Air Force and worked several jobs in the Greater Boston area. He was preceded in death by his mother Viola DeSota Young, in December 1996. He leaves behind a daughter, Toni Danielle Clark, who disappeared without a trace in March 1990; his life partner of 29 years Mary Harte; father and stepmother Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jones, Jr.; brothers and sisters, Joseph Jones III, Cynthia Myrick, Odis Myrick, Jr., Anna-Maria Jones, Anthony Myrick, Steven Jones, Sheila Myrick and Sharon Young; aunts and uncles Ernest Lee Thomas, Ann Thomas, Rose Dunning, Moses Jones, and Freddie DeSota; and many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Davis Funeral Home in Mattapan, Massachusetts. Express your condolences in our guestbook at pnj.com/obits
