Baldwin, Betty Louise  
Betty Louise Baldwin Betty Louise Baldwin was born on Wednesday, January 1st, 1934 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Matida Harden and Joe Stacy. She was raised by her maternal grandmother Margaret Mae Harden (1836-1957) and preceding her grandmother's death, she was raised by her Aunt, Annie Mae Harden Mobley (1910-1973). Betty was educated in the Duval County School District. In the early 1950's Betty met and fell in love with Daniel James Baldwin of the United States Navy. Daniel and Betty were united in marriage on August, 2nd, 1951 in Jacksonville, Florida. From this union, Betty and Daniel nine children. In 1963, the young military family moved from Norfolk, Virginia to Daniel's home town of Pensacola, Florida. Betty worked a short period of time outside the family home at Sacred Heart Hospital only later to resign her position to devote more time to her family. In later years, Daniel and Betty went into a family business opening The Father and Son Restaurant in the historic district of Belmont and Devilliers in Downtown Pensacola. Betty was a devoted member of The American Cancer Society, The American Legion Post 340, and The Touch of Class Social Club. Betty's true devotion was to her church for 27 years, Bethlehem United Missionary Baptist Church where she was known as "Mother Baldwin". She and Daniel remained devoted members until their death. Betty served as the President of the Pastor's Aid Board, President of the kitchen ministry, and chairperson for many church related activities. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel James Baldwin Sr. and her daughter, Gail Vanadess Baldwin. Betty leaves a life time of memories to three daughters, Faye Renee Baldwin, Monica Louise Baldwin, Joan Victoria Baldwin Mitchell (James); Five sons, Douglas Dewayne Baldwin Sr., Daniel James Baldwin II (Rhonda), Ronald Maurice Baldwin Sr., Dwight Mitchell Baldwin Sr. (Lynn), Anthony Carnell Baldwin All of Pensacola, Florida; Two sisters, Lillie Mar Cutts Golden, Carrie Cutts; A cousin, Evelynn Harden; A nephew, Charles Golden (Sheila), Rodney Golden All of Jacksonville, Florida; A niece Ceteria Golden Sessoms of Port Orange, Florida; A uncle Eddie Lee Carter of Hinesville, Georgia; Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, extended relatives, loving friends and her church family. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 1st, 2015, 11:00 a.m., at Greater Little Rock Baptist church, 901 North A Street, Pensacola, Florida 32501. David Henry Nathan Bennett, Sr. 2/11/1959 - 6/27/2015 David Bennett, Sr., 56, was preceded in death by his parents, David L. Bennett, and Atwaul Brown Bennett; and siblings, Theodore R. Mark A Hagerdon Mark A. Hagerdon, 53, of Gainesville, Florida passed away on June 27, 2015 in Gainesville. A memorial service will be held at the Liberty House, 230 North Barcelona Street, Pensacola, Florida on July 4, 2015, at 4:30 with Mr. Buddy Anderson officiating. Mark was born in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina to Richard and Shirley Hagerdon on July 8, 1961. He graduated from Ayer High School, Ayer, Massachusetts in 1979. Mark earned a technical degree from Sylvania Technical School in digital electronics. He proudly worked in the defense industry for many years, including four years at DRS, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, as an engineering technician. He went on to earn a degree in Applied Science, Computer Information Technology from Pensacola State College. He worked as a MRI repair technician for Phillips Corporation for a short time before his illness. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sports that resulted in an adrenaline rush, good food, and cats. He was loved and appreciated as well as an inspiration to many. Mark is survived by his daughters, Brittany Allan and Stephanie Westover of Shirley, Massachusetts, granddaughters, Justice Allan and Lianna Westover, parents, Richard & Anne Hagerdon of Sierra Vista, Arizona, sister, Robin Boyd of Mary Esther, Florida, niece Jessica Boyd and nephew Justin Boyd. Sarah Ann "Sadie" Deweese Haines Sarah Ann "Sadie" Deweese Haines, of Cantonment, FL was born in Jasper, AL on December 22nd 1935. She grew up in Eldridge, AL (Walker County), and graduated from the University of Montevallo with a degree in Speech Therapy. Sadie taught thousands of Escambia County's children, and was an active member of Alpha Delta Kappa. She is preceded in death by her mother, Sophia "Sophie" Margaret Walker DeWeese Jackson, and her father, Leo Crawford DeWeese. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard Wallace Haines II; sister (cousin) Barbara Walker Jones (Raymond), her children; Richard Wallace Haines III (Toni) and Sarah Leigh Haines Steele (Matthew), 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Sadie had a passion for life and a love for giving and sharing her joy with others. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held, Monday July 6 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home from 9-10 am. Service is at 10am, and burial to follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. Senior Bishop James C. Howard D.D. Bishop James C. Howard Sr. Born February 18, 1944 in Chipley, FL, transitioned from life to eternity on June 26, 2015. He was an honorably discharged veteran, retiree of BellSouth telephone company, Pastor Emeritus of Dixon Temple First Born Church of the Living God inc, and the presiding prelate of the National First Born Church of the Living God, Inc where he served faithfully until his death. He leaves to mourn his life and legacy his faithful wife of 46 years, Mother Clydie M. Howard. Son James ( Margaret) C. Howard jr Melody Howard, Valarie (Eddie) Howard Battle and Kimberly Howard and 10 grandchildren. The state viewing services will be held at House of God Church 2851 North E street on Friday July 3, 2015 6-8pm. Funeral services will be at Zion Hope Primitive Baptist Church 201 West Leonard St. on Saturday July 4, 2015 at 11:00 am. Johnson, John  
John Jacob Johnson John Johnson, age 86, passed away at his home in Pensacola, Florida, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. He was born in Kentucky and was one of nine children. Raised on a farm and educated Catholic, he graduated from High School and enlisted in the Navy. He served in the Korean War aboard the USS Pine Island, Corson and Kearsarge. He was also stationed aboard the USS America and Enterprise Aircraft Carriers. He served in the Navy for 20 years before retiring in Pensacola, Florida as a Chief Aviation Machinists Mate. He married Pauline Christine Dunlap and they had two children Pamelia and Phillip. After the passing of his wife Christine, he remarried Leona Parisien and they have been together for over 20 years. John was active in his community, serving as a Boy Scout leader, fourth degree Knights of Columbus, Naval Aviation Museum tour guide and mentor to those who sought his sage advice. He assisted in the Catholic Church throughout his life as an altar boy, lecturer, usher, and served communion to those who could not attend service. He was always quick with a humorous joke, sharing the produce of his backyard garden with family and friends and helping around the neighborhood as a fix it man to those who could not repair their homes. He is survived by his wife, two brothers and two sisters, their children, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family, friends and others whose lives John touched are invited to the Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Road, Pensacola, Florida from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015 to reminisce, grieve, support each other and of course, just chat. The funeral mass will be held at Little Flower Church on Lillian Highway on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at 11:45 a.m. at the Barrancas National Cemetery, Shelter A. A reception will be held in the community center at Holy Spirit Catholic Church following interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in John's name at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. GRACE LORETTA JORDAN 1926 - 2015 Grace Loretta Jordan, 88, of Pensacola, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 29, 2015. Grace was born July 06, 1926 in Oates, South Carolina to Charles Booker Mims and Maggie Hill Mims. She moved to Pensacola in 1981 with her husband and was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church. Grace was a devoted wife and mother, who always made her children's favorite food when they came to visit. She was a devout Christian and made sure to read her bible every day. Grace was proceeded in death by her husband Ervin Walker "E.W." Jordan and six brothers and sisters. Survivors include her son, Michael (Debbie) Jordan of Chapin, SC; daughters, Loretta (Jeff) Layton of Washougal, WA and Lisa Dominquez of Ridgeland, SC; brothers, Joseph Mims of Florence, SC and Charles Mims of Darlington, SC; sisters, Charlotte King of Lydia, SC; grandchildren, Jeannie Vega, Erik (Jenn) Lee, Heather Lee and Christopher Jordan; great grandchild, Ruben Vega Bjorkoy. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 03, 2015 at Eastern Gate Funeral Home with Rev. Lon Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
