Anthony "Tony" Vinci
Anthony (Tony) Vinci, 83, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2012. He was born on April 14, 1929, in New Haven, CT, to Luminato & Concetta (Ferreri) Vinci. Tony was a dedicated public servant, having worked 46 years as an Inventory Management Specialist for the Department of the Navy; 24 years in the Washington, DC, area and 22 years in Pensacola, FL. He volunteered with the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (formerly DCF Developmental Services) after retirement and then became one of its employees until April 2012. Tony was a Shakespeare scholar, having directed and acted in many Shakespeare plays. He loved listening to classical music, reading, astrology, and cooking. He also loved his pets, having owned as many as five dogs at one time.
Tony was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Jean Stanton Vinci, and brothers Frank and Stefano. He is survived by three sisters, Carolyn Vinci, Josephine V. Miller, and Rose B. Burke (Francis D.); three nieces and five nephews; and many grand nieces and nephews.
Tony's family would like to thank the staff at Bayside Manor Nursing Home and Emerald Coast Hospice for the care and friendship shown during the time of his illness.
