Betty K Johnson
Betty K Johnson, 81 of East Pensacola Heights passed away on January 8,
Betty was born in Pensacola to William and Sadie Kage. She grew up in East Pensacola Heights and claimed Bayou Texar as her playground. She graduated form Pensacola High School with the class of 1949. In the sixties she moved her family to Gulf Breeze and raised her children on East Bay. Betty worked at Pensacola Naval Air Station as an Industrial Engineer Technician until retirement in 1987.
She returned to East Pensacola Heights and enjoyed various hobbies throughout her retirement years, including fishing, gardening, crocheting and knitting. She was an avid reader and particularly enjoyed professional baseball. Betty conquered many a crossword puzzle. In the past few years she found a love of camping.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Sadie Kage; brothers, Charles, Billy and Richard; and her son Roger.
Betty's legacies are her children, Tommy (Barbara), Bonnie (Rick), Bruce (Julie) and Dan (Bobby). Betty had eight grandchildren, Chris, Carl, Laura, Stephen, Zach, Alex, Brian and Brandon; and seven great-grandchildren, Austin, Katie, Wyatt, Joshua, Corey, Bella Rose and Lloyl. She is mourned by a very dear friend, Walter Macguire and other EPH neighbors and friends.
A Memorial Service will be Monday, January 14, 2013 at 10:00am at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Fr. George Thekkummattath officiating.
Betty was a lover of quotes and she leaves us with this one: "At last in every life a spring will come that you will not see…So enjoy each spring you do see".
