Lt. Col. Charles
Born in Vocation, Al., June 27,1937. Charles Passed away after a brief illness in Pensacola, Fl.,March 1, 2014.
He grew up in and around Vocation, Huxford and Atmore Alabama until he left for Perkingston, Ms.
He resided in Molino Florida at his Sunny Hill Farm with his wife of 30 years.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Lilla Lambert of Atmore Alabama, sisters Ellen Daniels, Joyce Westmark and son Todd Lambert.
He is survived by his wife Linda J. Lambert, children, Dr. Mark Lambert (wife-Pamela),Doug Lambert (wife-Karen).Jodey Harper who was like a son to him. Grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth and Isabella Allyn Lambert. Brother's in law Wayne Westmark and Don Patterson, Sister in law, Carol Patterson, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Ernest Ward High School, Perkingston College, Florida State University, and the Command & General Staff School. He Worked at the Pensacola News Journal, The Playground Daily News and Retired as Vice-President of Public Relations for Gulf Power Company after 29 years. He also worked at the Pensacola Historic Preservation Board and Pensacola Foot and Ankle Center.
A Lt. Col. in the US Army Reserves, His duty station was the Pentagon serving in Military Intelligence. He was a life long Boy Scout . His three sons all achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
He was involved with numerous community activities, including past president of the Cancer Society, Chamber of Commerce ,and Florida State University Alumni Association. His many loves in life were God, Family, Country, FSU and his many friends and Family.
Memorial Service will be held at the Naval Aviation Memorial Chapel, Wednesday March 19th at 1:00 pm . Interment to follow at 2:00pm at Barrancas Cemetery with Military Honors. Faith Chapel North is in charge of arrangements.
