Douglas Dillon

Douglas Alan Dillon

Douglas Alan Dillon, 63, of Milton went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, May 25, 2014. Born in Canton, Ohio he moved to Freeport, Florida when he was five years old. After graduating from Freeport high school in 1968, he graduated from UWF in 1974 with a Bachelor's degree in accounting. He was hired as an accountant for the Santa Rosa School System, but after three years was promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Finance. When he retired in June of 2011 after 37 years of service his only regret was leaving his beloved "work family" behind. Though music was his first love he turned to photography as his newest retirement hobby. He'd spend hours studying photography books, watching training DVD's, and experimenting with nature photography in his own back yard. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Howard Dillon and his youngest son Brandon Timothy Dillon. Doug is survived by his wife of fourteen and a half years, Penny Jean Dillon, his oldest son Nathaniel Clay Dillon, his grandson Nathaniel Caleb Dillon of Murfreesboro, Tn, and his mother Geraldine Meadows Dillon. Visitation will be held between 12:30 and 2:30 pm Saturday May 31, 2014 at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with funeral services beginning at 2:30. Rev. Fred Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Serenity Gardens.
