Hardy Marshall Johnson, 62, of Pensacola passed away on October, 16, 2013, after a full life.

Hardy was born in Aberdeen, MD and had resided in many states throughout the years, including Maryland, Texas, Florida and Illinois. He worked for Escambia County Public Safety for over 25 years in many capacities, such as an emergency dispatcher, firefighter and EMT. Later, he worked for offshore drilling companies Seamar and then Hornbeck. In his early years, he filled his life with the love of sports, adventure and the outdoors. He earned a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, played football and raced motorcycles. As he got older, he became an avid reader, proficient hunter and a fond pet-owner. He was a huge believer in the power of education, and he himself enjoyed learning. He studied several languages including Russian and Latin, and read books about History and Geography. In his later years, he enjoyed watching football, motocross, Formula-1 and he preferred quiet time at his koi pond.

Hardy was preceded in death by his mother, Vaughn De Leigh Johnson.

Survivors include his loving wife, Danette Johnson; daughters, Kristyn and Marissa Johnson and Christie Erickson (Daryl); grandson, Jackson Erickson; father, Henry Harris Johnson; brother, Michael O'Neal Johnson (Sherrie); nephew, Sean Johnson and niece, Victoria Johnson.

Visitation will be held 1:00pm until a Memorial Service to begin at 2:00pm Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at First United Methodist Church.
