Henry C. Burton, Jr.


Henry C. Burton, Jr., 90, a resident of Pensacola, Florida died Thursday, April 10, 2014 after an extended illness. Henry was born in Louisville, MS. Mr. Burton was a proud retiree of the United States Navy and served his country in both World War II and the Korean War. After his retirement from the Navy he worked with the Civil Service as an aircraft mechanic and later with the Supply Division. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and DAV.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry C. and Willie Burton; two sisters, Bernice Waites, Margie Hill; one brother, James Burton.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Ann Burton; son, Henry C. (Paulette) Burton, III; two grandchildren, Kendall (Steven Hunley) Burton, Russell Burton; one great-grandchild, Taylor Hunley; he also leaves numerous nieces nephews, extended family members and friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Henry Waites, Pam Walker and Robert Churchwell.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice, 2001 N Palafox Street, Pensacola, FL 32501.

The family will receive friends at the Faith Chapel Funeral Home, 100 Beverly Parkway on Friday, April 18, 2014 from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 12:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery.
