Lonzo Marquiett Weed, Sr.


Lonzo Marquiett Weed Sr. went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 14, 2012. He will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Kyle and Aline Weed, and his son, Jonathan Weed.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and Navy.

He was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church. In his early years, he worked at Bassett's Dairy in Monticello, FL. He enjoyed fishing and was a pipefitter for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margie L. Weed; his son, Lonzo Marquiett Weed Jr. (Sheila); his daughters, Tina Waldrop (Eugene), Cindy Werneth (Paul), all Mobile, AL; 14 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren, who all loved him very much; his brother, Oliver Weed (Kim) of Tallahassee, FL; his brothers-in-law, Joe Patrick (Brenda) and Alton Patrick (Debbie); his sisters-in-law, Diann Smith (Dickie), Marilyn Perez, Jeanette Wood and Catherine Cofield.

Visitation will be Monday, December 17, 2012 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME SOUTH, 100 Beverly Pkwy, Pensacola, FL.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, December 18 at Faith Chapel South with Reverend Bobby Lee Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery at NAS Pensacola,

FL. Pallbearers will be Mark Weed, Kevin Waldrop, Michael Werneth, Steven Smith, Bobby Weed, and Paul Patrick. Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy Spiers and Douglas Davis.
