Louellen Palmer(1919 - 2014)

Louellen "Ellen" Palmer

1919 - 2014

Louellen Palmer, 94, of Pensacola, FL went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 19, 2014. She was born on December 5, 1919 in Okaloosa County.

Louellen was a wonderful Mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whom we loved so very much, and she will be terribly missed. She was a dedicated prayer warrior; her grandchildren, as well as her children always knew that if they asked "Mom", "Ma", or "Granny" to pray for them or someone else, she was faithful to follow through. Louellen was faithful both to her Lord and her family.

Louellen was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Marvin Palmer; her grandson, Len James; her parents, Edna and Allen Elliott; her brother, John Allen Elliott; and her sister, Cora Lee Elliott.

She is survived by her daughters, Annette (Leonard) James, Carel (Al) Baldree, and Pam (Gorden) Wade; her 7 grandchildren, Cindy (Robert) Duke, Cristy (Tony) Bloom, Kim (Ray) Scruggs, Dawn Goodwin, Joshua Goodwin, Gorden (Crystal) Wade, and Daniel Wade; her 14 great-grandchildren, Tanner Duke, Timber Duke, Anabeth Duke, Ansleigh Duke, Jayce James, Anna Leigh Bloom, Ashley Alfred, Colby Scruggs, Thumper Grice, Wyatt Scruggs, Grayson Simmons, Cole Goodwin, Tia Wade, and Reagan Wade; her great-great granddaughter, McKenzie Alfred; her sister, Lillian Mathews; a very special nephew, Tommy Mathews; her brother-in-law, LeRoy Palmer, and many other nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to the staff at Health Center of Pensacola for the wonderful care they provided to Mom over the last seven months. They would also like to thank Mary Burke, Lon Roberts, Ricky Hendrix, Catherine & Charles Bailey, and Julia & Charles Anderson for their many visits and loving cards, and to the staff at Covenant Hospice for the wonderful support they provided.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Greene, officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be: Josh Goodwin, Thumper Grice, Robert Duke, Tony Bloom, Ray Scruggs, Colby Scruggs.
