Mary E. Boyette
Mary E. Boyette, age 93, of Pensacola, FL, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, November 27th, 2012. She passed at home among family. Mrs. Boyette was born in Stamps, AR on March 22, 1919, and was a resident of Pensacola since childhood.
Deceased in 1999, her husband, L.D. Boyette and Mary, worked a lifetime together in the homebuilding as well as mortgage and finance businesses. Mary was the financial partner and business manager while L.D. was the creative genius. Their initial business endeavor began with the purchase of a small grocery store in Pensacola, which was acquired using their entire savings of $39.00. They continued their business ventures together for over 50 years in Pensacola and Milton.
Mary always had a special place in her heart for children who had special needs. When her granddaughter, Barbie, was born multiply handicapped she dedicated many years to taking care of Barbie so that her daughter, Mary Beth Morton, could finish school and work. Barbie was her "Special Angel" and for the love that her "Mumu" shared with her Barbie's life has been made richer. Mary is also survived by her grandson Robert Thomas Morton. She was always very interested in Robert's education and business ventures, and remained very proud of him.
For the last several years Mary suffered with COPD and heart problems. During this time of suffering Mary received tremendous support from her family, friends, and special services. The family gratefully acknowledges the wonderful staff of Covenant Hospice, specifically Laurie, Barbara, Joan, Karen, and Pastor Jack Giddens as well as Senior Minister Connie Ragghianti and Margaret & Peggy of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, for their faithfully providing spiritual support at home. Mary also enjoyed the many cards, flowers, and gifts that she received from family and friends.
Special thanks goes to her personal staff, Artencia, Dial, and Dee, who helped take care of her during the time of her greatest illness. Exceptional love and appreciation goes to Ella Lyons for 27 years of service and friendship.
She is preceded in death by her four sisters: Juanita Dixon (Bruce), Nell Kelson (C.M.), Sybil Nellums (Bill), and Sarah Diamond (Bill); while her two brothers, W.T. Cooper (Tootsie) and Marbury Cooper (Doris), continue their service for the Lord on this Earth.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30a.m., Saturday December 1, 2012 at Waters & Hibbert Funeral Home with Minister Connie Ragghianti and Pastor Jack Giddens officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.
