Mary Frank Johnson Elebash died in Pensacola on November 17, 2013. She was a native of Tallahassee, the daughter of Mae and Frank Johnson. She graduated from Leon High School in 1947 and Florida State University in 1951. She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority.
Mrs. Elebash was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked for many years in her family's retail clothing business in Tallahassee. She was a founding member of the Tallahassee Junior League and a member of the Tallahassee Cotillion Club. She moved with her husband to Pensacola in 1976 when he joined the faculty at the University of West Florida. She made many new friends in Pensacola while maintaining close ties with her Tallahassee connections. She was a warm and gracious lady who quickly made friends wherever she went.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two siblings, Elizabeth Jones and T.F. Johnson, Jr. Survivors are: husband Clarence C. Elebash, Pensacola; children Louise Heidenreich, Carol Franklin, Keith McNeill and M. C. McNeill III, all of Tallahassee; step children Alan Elebash of Tallahassee, Edward Elebash of Jacksonville, Barbara Benson, Atlanta, and Patricia Elebash, Atlanta; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 10:30am Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Christ Episcopal Church with Fr. Neal Goldsborough officiating. There will be a reception in the parish hall following the service. Burial will be private.
