Nicholas Alexander Campbell Cooke
Nicholas "Nick" Alexander Campbell Cooke, 16, of Pensacola passed away on August 22, 2013.
Nick was born on April 5, 1997 at the Milton Memorial Birthing Center in the Flowersville community. He began his life in Ft. Walton Beach, FL but moved to Pensacola when his sister was born in 1999.
Nick started with Cub Scouts, then became a leader in Boy Scouts Troop 495. He also enjoyed camping and hiking, especially Boy Scout Camp. This summer he attended an 8 day white water rafting trip which he loved.
Nick was baptized as a baby and professed his faith at Olive Baptist Church as a child. He loved God, was a born leader and was very intelligent (he aced the FCAT test 3 years in a row and received a letter from Senator Don Gaetz). He would help anyone in need, he was selfless with an old soul and a big heart. You could say he was a "Boy Scout" at all times.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Riedy and paternal grandparents, Pamela and Fredrick Cooke. In fact, Lt. Fred Cooke passed away just a day after Nicholas.
Survivors include: his parents, Alex Campbell-Cooke and Maryellen Cooke; his siblings, Isabella Catherine Robenalt Cooke, William John Riedy Roberts, Ava and Oliver Roberts; grandmother, Ruth Robenalt; many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Trahan Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Funeral service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at First United Methodist Church.
Special thanks to Jennifer and Marty Sherlock and their son Gregory for their love and support of Nicholas.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Boy Scouts Troop 495. These can be dropped off at the First United Methodist Church office.
"We have lost an amazing son, a loyal friend to everyone and the world has lost a great leader."
He will be sorely missed.
Memorial video will be available for viewing on Trahan Family Funeral Home's Facebook page per family's request.
