Ralph Turner Woosley of Bagdad, Florida, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on June 13, 2013.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation before the service at 9:30 a.m. at National Cremation and Burial Society, 5641 Hwy 90 West, Milton, Florida, 32583.
Ralph was born January 1st 1949 in Jackson, MS. He was a 1967 graduate of Clinton High School in Mississippi and the University of Southern Mississippi. He served his country In the United States Army in Vietnam. Prior to starting his teaching career, Ralph worked in radio, TV and news in MS, KY and TX. He taught in the Escambia County School system since 1981. Ralph was an active member of the Pensacola Little Theatre, appearing in and supporting numerous productions. Ralph was an avid reader and crossword puzzle addict and a loving family member, friend, teacher.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Joe C. Woosley and Ruby Turner Woosley and a nephew, Ryan Wade Woosley.
Ralph leaves behind his beloved wife, Cindy Fillingane Woosley of Bagdad. Ralph and Cindy "re-met" at a high school reunion in 2001 and she has been the love of his life. He leaves behind a son, Nicholas Gooden Woosley and granddaughter, Piper Eris Woosley of Lillian, Alabama; step-daughter Whitney Herman (Ben), and grandchildren Abbey and Landon Herman of Flowood, MS; step-son Scott Myers (Lacey) of Belzoni, MS; granddaughter Alexandra Myers, Terry, MS. Also surviving are brothers Byron Woosley (Bonnie) of Indio, CA; Paul Woosley (Kris) of Gulf Shores, AL; Dan Woosley (Heather) of Hoover, AL; John Woosley (Doreen Aronson), Seattle, WA; and one sister, Jane Woosley (Patrick McAllister) of Ridgeland, MS; sister-in-law Connie Robinson (David) and brother-in-law Herman Fillingane. Also surviving is Ralph's step-mother, Delma Joyce Woosley of Greenwood, Arkansas, and step-siblings David Woosley (Vanessa), Susan Tackett (Ray), and Sarah Trimble. Also surviving are nephews and nieces and grand nieces Kristin Woosley McMillan (Craig) and Ruby Ryan McMillan; Jesse Woosley (Amanda) and Libby Woosley; Bekah Woosley Butler (Jamie) and Emma Kate Butler; Kevin Woosley (Julie). Ralph loved so much his aunts and uncles and cousins. Surviving aunts and uncles are Maxine and Wesley Moore of Panama City, FL; Rev. and Mrs. David Crouch, Searcy, AR; Ann and James Ryals, Little Rock, AR; Dale Woosley, Mt. Vernon, IL; Billie Lea Woosley, McKinney, TX.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ralph's memory may be made to Pensacola Little Theatre or the
National Cremation & Burial Society has been entrusted with the arrangements.
