Reede Christman (Lu) Ross, wife of the late Joseph A. Ross, died December 23, 2012 in Pensacola, FL.

A native of Jackson, TN, Mrs. Ross was born March 9, 1916. She graduated from Judson College in 1938, and married Joseph Ross in 1941. They resided in Beaufort, SC and Wheaton, IL before moving to Pensacola in 1963.

Mrs. Ross was active in many community organizations and service clubs, including Azalea Garden Club, Friends of the Library, Morning Book Club, Music Study Club, Nomads, Pensacola Historic Preservation Society, Pensacola Museum of Art Guild, and the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra Guild. She had been a member of St Christopher's Episcopal Church and also attended All Saints Church. She was librarian at the Pensacola Academy and at the Pensa-cola School of Liberal Arts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ross and by her grandson, Gregory Richbourg.

Survivors include her daughter, Elisabeth Ellen Ross Richbourg of Pensacola; her son, David Abbott Ross (Ruth) of Independence, VA; her grandchildren, Ryan Ball (Kristina Olsen), Catherine Richbourg, Frederick Ross, and Emma Ross; and her great-grandchildren, Joseph, Aiden, and Landon Richbourg, and Sara and Dylan Ball.

Mrs. Ross will be buried beside her husband in Barrancas National Cemetery. The family will hold a private memorial service in Pensacola at a later date.
