RUBY LEE BOWMAN
Ruby L. Bowman (Ms Ruby) slipped away in the morning of June 8, 2013 at her home surrounded by her beloved Daughter Madeline Bowman and Granddaughter Tracy Willson, and special friend Nellie Blackmon, who helped her daughter when ever needed. Ruby was born in Chattahoochee, FL on November 7th 1925 to William E Owens and Ethel Ann Glisson (Albright). She was a Devoted Mother and Grandmother, especially to her daughter, who took care of her faithfully till her death. Ruby worked at St. Regis/Champion, (which is now International Papers, IP) for 32 plus years, secretary to the Bag Plant Managers. Later, when the Bag Plant closed it transferred over to Smurfit Stone Container, she went along to help start the plant up and running, after 6 years, finally retiring. She was a very special lady and friend to all who knew her: she will be truly missed by all. Family would like to thank Nellie Blackmon for all that she did to make Ms Ruby's last days at home comfortable and also Covenant Hospice. Ruby was a charter member of Gateway Church of Christ(formerly West Hill Church).
She was preceded in death by her parents, William E Owens, Sr and Ethel Ann Glisson (Albright), Husband , Dr. Vernon L Bowman, Infant Daughter, Sandra L Bowman, Brothers John M Owens, William E. Owens, Jr. and Gene T Owens, Sr. Survivors include her Devoted and loving Daughter, Madeline L Bowman, Three Grandchildren, Tracy L. Willson-Peavy (Vic), Andrew D. Willson and Crystal A. Willson (Willie): Eight Great Grandchildren, Alexandria Holt, Vanessa Holt, Logan Oliver, Domenica Willson, Ruby Willson (who was named after Ruby), Tessa Willson, Isabella Laccetti and Dacey Capps. Nieces; Patty Lovett (Frank), Carolyn Duncan and Marilyn Tuttle. Nephews; Gene T Owens and Daryl Johnson.
Viewing will be at 12:00pm on Thursday, June 13, 2013 with services following @ 2:00pm with Jim Caples Officiating, and Eulogy given by Thomas Helms and Jack Forbes @ Waters and Hibbert, 124 W Gregory St, Pensacola, FL. is in charge of the arrangements. Interment will follow @ St. John's Cemetery, "G" Street.
Pallbearers will Andrew Willson, John Arnold, Jeremy Kughn, George Haber, Perry Ford , Carl Thomann and Vic Peavy.
