Anita Falzone Faggioni

1919-2012

Anita Falzone Faggioni, 92, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. Born in Pensacola on Oct. 18, 1919, Anita Falzone Faggioni was the daughter of Libertino and Giuseppina Falzone. She was one of seven siblings born to that union. Anita was a loving mother who maintained a wonderful home while being employed at Louise Shoppe, Bon Marche and the Pensacola Credit Union. She was an excellent cook who was able to bring to the table those wonderful Sicilian meals that her mother, Giuseppina had taught her. Many of those recipes came from her mother's native city of Acireale, Sicily. Anita was very proud of her Sicilian heritage and returned numerous times to visit family there. Her home was adorned with many artifacts and memorabilia from her trips there with her beloved husband, Martino. After their retirement, Anita and Martino were able to travel abroad to many different countries. They also thoroughly enjoyed camping with their travel trailer going to numerous cities across the USA, to visit their grandchildren and also to attend Notre Dame football games. She was completely devoted to Martino and they would have celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary just six days before her passing. They had a wonderful marriage that everyone who knew them could see.

Anita is survived by two children, Diane Faggioni Doggett (Fred Cannon) and Dr. Martino Faggioni (Cathy Faggioni). She is also survived by four grandchildren; Eric Doggett, Rayna Mercer, Lauri Faggioni and Christopher Faggioni. Four great-grandchildren, Nicole Mercer, Brandon Doggett, Trevor Doggett and Katie Mercer are left to cherish their "Grand-nonna". Her only surviving sibling is Peter Falzone ( Billie Falzone) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers for the funeral will be Eric Doggett, Chris Faggioni, Fred Cannon, Ronnie Faggioni and Bert Falzone.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 7, 2012 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel from 6-8 pm.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 10 am at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. We cannot thank the West Florida Covenant Hospice enough for the love and support that Anita's family received from them. They are truly God's angels.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Ave.. Pensacola, FL 32504.

You have been the most wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. We will surely miss your love and your devotion to our family.
