1939 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
Ann Robinson Davis


Mrs. Lavan Baltzel Davis (nee Frances Ann Robinson) of Pensacola, FL passed away quietly in her sleep late Tuesday evening on 30 April 2013 at Carpenter's Creek Retirement Community at age seventy-three.

Born on 9 May 1939 to Harry Luther Robinson and Frances Harrison Robinson in Defuniak Springs, Ann was the first of 3 daughters. Ann was a graduate of Pensacola High School, the 1959 Fiesta Queen and a 1961 graduate of Wesleyan College of Macon, GA.

In 1961, she met and married John Maye Quarterman, Jr.

Ann was an impeccable hostess, an avid book reader, enjoyed collecting antiques, a lover of world history and a natural born story-teller. A life-long member of the Junior League, in several states her homes were featured in Caravan. For over 30 years, Ann was a middle school world history teacher and too numerous to count was voted favorite teacher by her students.

Ann inherited a love and natural ability for floral arrangement from her mother Frances. For many years, she shared this talent with the parish of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church. A lover of dogs, Ann adored her Basset Hounds.

In 1991, Ann married the Reverend Lavan Baltzel Davis, founder of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Lee Ann, her husband Ford Allen and their children Chelsea Mabry, Shelby Lavan and Case of Hilton Head Island, SC. She is also survived by her son, Jack Quarterman and his wife Michelle, and Jack's son, Patrick O'Brien, of Mooresville, NC.

She leaves behind two sisters, Jean Walker of Huntsville, AL and her family and Gail Cotton of Canton, GA and her family.

Ann's service will be held 3:30pm Saturday, 4 May 2013, at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church. A reception at the church will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be mad to St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 3200 N. 12th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32503.
